Outline

Our research is aiming to develop synthetic methods based on novel concepts that are not bound by the conventional framework of organic synthesis. Specifically, our group is trying to develop solid-state organic synthetic reactions using ball milling. Through this research, we are establishing a new field, called mechano-synthetic chemistry through the development of organic reactions using mechanical impacts as a driving force and molecular transformations of extremely unreactive, insoluble organic compounds. In this mechano-synthetic chemistry, our research targets not only small organic molecules but also polymeric materials and inorganic materials, and we are exploring novel research concepts by pushing the boundaries of these research fields.
