Research Outline

My research focuses on structural materials for next-generation nuclear reactors, including small modular reactors (SMRs), with the goal of supporting the realization of a decarbonized society. I study low-activation high-entropy alloys (HEAs), particularly their fabrication by additive manufacturing (AM) and their dissimilar joining with conventional steels using spark plasma sintering (SPS). My work addresses microstructural control, interfacial diffusion and reaction mechanisms, and the evaluation of mechanical, wear, corrosion, and irradiation properties. Through these studies, I aim to develop high-performance and practical structural materials for advanced nuclear systems.
