Outline
Our research aims to elucidate the sophisticated adaptive ability of living organisms to their environment by analyzing “cellular functions” which are the basic units of life.
Especially, plants need to adapt to severe environmental changes by modulating multiple cellular signal transduction pathways and metabolism. In some case, they induce dynamic changes at the individual level, such as flowering, leaf senescence and defoliation, in response to the environment. We aim to reveal the molecular mechanisms regulating the plant responses to environmental stresses.
We believe that our research will contribute to increasing food production and preserving the global environment.
